“Since partnering with Turn2, we are having more success on the field. But more importantly, the spiritual impact of this ministry on our players, coaches, and their families is beyond words!

Head Coach,

Goshen College

Are You a College Baseball Coach?

If so, have any of these thoughts crossed your mind:

  • Is all of this worth it?  The late nights, the early mornings, and the constant battle of having your worldly success being defined by 18-22-year-old kids.

  • Is all of this worth it? Keeping the administration happy, staying under budget, fundraising, scheduling, and recruiting: a lot of hassle for 50 games. You really do love the game of baseball, but at the end of the day, you know that baseball is very little of what you do.

  • Is all of this worth it? Coaching isn’t just hard on you; it takes a toll on your family. You see it a little more with each passing season.

My name is Casey Cavell, and I have seen firsthand the struggle that college baseball coaches endure. From time spent playing ball in college, going through three coaches in three years, to the time I spent as a college assistant coach, one thing has been clear: being a coach isn’t easy.

Most are under-resourced, underpaid, and operating above capacity. When this happens, who suffers? The coaches, their faith, their families, and the 35 players they're in charge of leading.

It doesn’t have to work this way.

I founded Turn2 Ministries to help college coaches find room to breathe and succeed. I want to help them become spiritually healthy and mentally healthy: giving them the capacity to do more of what they love.

Our ministry provides full-time coaches who focus on the personal and spiritual development of their players at no cost to the college coach or program.

Unfortunately, after hearing a message like this, many coaches will put on their ball cap and go back to work. At the end of the day, they believe they are the ones that need to fix it; they are the head coach and it’s their problem to solve.

However, we are not meant to do life on our own; it takes a team. The first step to making a big change for yourself and your players is admitting that you can’t do it on your own.

If you are open-minded and looking for a way to thrive, we would love to speak with you.
